It is widely considered the easiest game mode to grind because you don’t have to actively play. You can simply set a match limit for your team to automatically complete games while you sleep or handle real-life tasks.

Matchmaking Information

In this section, we will explore how to utilize matchmaking in order to effectively climb divisions in Manager Mode.

The lower your Team Rating (cups), the easier it is to win games, as matchmaking will pair you with easier opponents. This is why, if you have high cups but are in a low division, you’ll struggle a lot. In such cases, you should consider lowering your rating—otherwise, your progress will become more difficult over time. See the guide below for better understanding.

Below Legendary 3 Rank

If you have above 300K rating in Manager Mode but are still below World Class 3, it will become difficult to progress, as your rating will match you against much stronger teams. In this situation, use the Rating Lowering Method described below.

Below Legendary 1 Rank

If you are aiming to get promoted and your rank is below Legendary 1, your team rating should be below 450K–500K. If your rating is higher than that, you should lower it using the method below to improve your chances of promotion.

Rating Lowering Method

If your rating is higher than the thresholds mentioned above, use a full bronze team and let the game run on auto. This will gradually lower your rating and rank — a worthy trade-off for easier matchmaking later. Continue doing this until your rating drops to a more favorable level.

For easier progress below Legendary 3 — lower rating to around 300K or less.
For easier progress below Legendary 1 — lower rating to around 500K or less.

Tip: Always aim to drop your rating to at least 100K lower than the mentioned max value to maximize your chances for easy promotion.

Essential Traits

For example, a CAM with the trait ‘Long Shot Taker’ will often take accurate long shots. Therefore, traits are very beneficial in Manager Mode. Choosing players with the right traits can greatly enhance overall team effectiveness.

Note: It’s not compulsory for every player to have all the listed traits and stats, but at least 2–3 of them should be present for optimum performance.

Promotion / Demotion

In this section, we will explain the important factors related to promotion and demotion in Manager Mode.

How Promotion and Demotion Works

You will either be promoted or demoted based on how many points you gain in a cycle.
A win grants 3 points, a draw gives 1 point, and a loss gives 0 points. Each division has a specific number of points required for promotion, which you must reach within 10 games.

If you fail to meet the promotion requirement in 10 games — don’t worry! There’s a second chance. You can still avoid relegation by hitting the “Avoid Relegation Threshold”. If you reach this threshold, your points will reset but you will stay in the same division. If you fail to reach both the promotion and relegation thresholds, you will be demoted.

🔵 OVR

Your team Overall Rating (OVR) is extremely important for success in Manager Mode.

🔁 Cycles

Each cycle consists of 10 matches.
If you fail to reach the required promotion points in those 10 matches, you’ll either:

Remain in the same division (if you meet the avoid-relegation threshold)
Get relegated to a lower division (if you fail to meet that threshold)
