• World Cup winner and Ballon d’Or legend Fabio Cannavaro has reached a verbal agreement to become the new head coach of the Uzbekistan National Team for their historic 2026 World Cup campaign. The former Italy captain is now set to replace Timur Kapadze. 🤝

• The agreement is confirmed to be in place on all key contract terms, with the formal documents expected to be fully reviewed and officially signed by both parties within the next 24 to 48 hours. Cannavaro was reportedly ready to accept the offer earlier this week.✍️  

• This move sees Cannavaro, who most recently coached Dinamo Zagreb, take charge of a nation preparing for its first-ever FIFA World Cup, a major historical achievement. Uzbekistan secured their spot in the expanded 48-team tournament earlier this year. 🌍
